Why did God WANT to create Lucifer besides for music and knowing He wouldn't get much good out of Lucifer anyway?

This is a really really good question, one which has plagued seekers since the beginning of time. I think the question you are really asking is "why is there evil in the world" and the closely related question: "Why do bad things happen to good people". This is an extremely complicated answer, and I don't think I can do it justice here on Wiki How. I would recommend reading the C.S. Lewis book "The Problem of Pain" which answeres your question about Lucifer specifically and more generally why there is bad stuff that happens in the world. One final thought, from someone that has thought and prayed about this question quite a bit (and stolen a bit from the C.S. Lewis book). When God created us, he wanted a family. He could have created robot beings that walk around saying "I love you, I love you". But is that really love? We must be able to make the choice to say "I love you", and therefore must have to make a choice.

To what extent is the world today plagued by excessive preoccupation with money and material things?

This is a very good question my friend. Look around, look on television, its all madness and immoral. All 2007 mainstream television really is, is sex, drugs, violence. MTV is the biggest example of this. We need to stop this. The Generation of television we are in cant get any worse. Television basically tells people "whats in" and whats not in, and whatever is in "you must buy" don't give in to this though. world has never changed as far as preoccupation for it is concerned ....longing for better condition is what instinct demands....yes now as progrssing of societies system is cocerned the main contributor of service exchange is MONEY AND MATERIAL thing but theres no way out.. you cant just go on cursing and continue being a part..... my friend never stop ur self from being a part of it as theresonly 2 way out ....first is that u evoke ur senses to extreme and satisfy urself like in case you musterbate for desire of sex,,,,,,,you blead the part which itches you.... and the 2nd way out is death......NISHANT SINGH(nishantstag@gmail.com) Iyr mbbs student
