There were no French cities destroy, but there were nine villages destroyed. Three of which have been rebuilt and the other six have been preserved. Germany also didn't have any real cities destroyed from fighting.

There were no real countries destroyed,instead they were separated into individual ruling countries.

Did all children go to school in World War I?

Kids continued to attend school during World War 1. In countries that had compulsory education before the war, nearly all kids continued to go to school. In many countries education was compulsory only up to age 14 or in some cases, only 13. In some European countries there were educational reforms in the aftermath of the war.

Europe (especially France) was devastated after the First World War. Harvests were not gathered extensively for a long time afterwards, as the war had destroyed not only the current crops, but also the land and facilities. As such, European nations were forced to purchase excess food from the United States, allowing the US to grow while they themselves continued to fall.
