There was not enough space to properly ask my question. Let's try this again.

I was asked today why only the principle portion of the current portion of long-term debt is included in the current ratio when the interest portion will also require payment within the next 12 months. Of course notes payable on the balance sheet are discounted to net present value (i.e. in most cases, the principle amount due) in accordance with generally accepted account principles and the current assets and liabilities are taken directly from the balance sheet to calculate the current ratio.

Conceptually I agree with this current ratio calculation but in the real world, it appears that the current ratio will indeed be understated if the amount of accrued interest due within the next 12 months is not included in the liability denominator of the current liability equation.

Any takers on this relatively simple question?

Thanks,

MJG

Which letter repersents current in equations?

In electrical equations, the letter "I" typically represents current. This notation comes from the French word "intensité," which means intensity. Current is measured in amperes (A) and is a fundamental concept in understanding electric circuits.

What method for calculating credit card balance does not take into account the purchases or the payments made during the current billing cycle?

The method for calculating credit card balance that does not account for purchases or payments made during the current billing cycle is the "previous balance method." This approach simply uses the balance carried over from the previous billing cycle, disregarding any transactions that occurred in the current cycle. As a result, it may not accurately reflect the current amount owed if there have been significant purchases or payments.

How many times latching current is greater than holding current?

Latching current is typically greater than holding current by a factor of about 1.5 to 3 times, depending on the specific device and its design. The latching current is the minimum current required to maintain the relay in the "on" state after it has been activated, while the holding current is the minimum current needed to keep it in that state. This difference ensures that the relay remains stable and does not drop out due to fluctuations in current.

How many times is Hell mentioned in the Old Testament?

Hell is not mentioned in the Old Testament; the concept first arises in the New Testament and contemporary Rabbinical writings. The Old Testament generally refers to "Sheol" which appears to be much more similar to the Greek Underworld than the current concept of Hell.
