We're starting with a rhombus.

-- 2 right angles

Not necessarily. A rhombus doesn't need any right angles in order to be a rhombus,

but it can have some, and if it has one right angle, then it has four of them.

-- 1 pair of parallel sides

A rhombus has two pairs of parallel sides. If it doesn't, then it's not a rhombus.

-- no sides are the same

If it's a rhombus then all four of its sides are the same length. If they're not, then it isn't a rhombus.
