It can measure angles, but is NOT normally used for such measurements.

Compass angles are measured in bearings. Starting at North (N), which bearing '000'. East is bearing '090', South is bearing '180' and West is bearing '270'.

Bearings are measured in angle from the north in a clockwise direction, and ALWAYS quoted as three numbers.

Bearing South East (S.E.) is '135'.

The navigational compass, like circles, is measured in 360 degrees.
