Euclid, Greek Mathematician, is known as the Father of Geometry... He put into words several geometric rules in the form of postulates and so forth and organized all of them into geometric tables... But although he penned them into words, he didn't discover the majority of them himself... It is impossible, however, to name an inventor, because hundreds of years before Euclid, the Ancient Egyptians and Babylonians were using geometric figures in the building of pyramids, ziggurats, and the like... Mathematics has been constant since the creation of earth- it was never invented, but rather discovered... But for purposes of tests and such, if you need a name to write down, go with Euclid, as much is attributed to him for gathering and recording information which he then translated into definitions, postulates, and theorems...
