you change the denominator into the nearest 10, 100, 1000, whatever.

so for example, if there was the fraction 1/2, you have to figure out how many 2s make a 10. and as you know, 5 x 2 =10.

So your denominator is 10 now. and see the numerator. remember that two 5s make 10, so you are going to times the numerator by 5, because like you always do, whatever you do to the denominator, you do the same thing to the numerator. and 5x1= 5. so basically what u did was doubling. so after you double the fraction, you are going to change it to a decimal. so how do you change 5/10 into a decimal? Well, it's easy peasy. you have one zero in ten. so that is going to be your whole number. and 5 will be your tenth. so in conclusion, the answer is 0.5

*I'm sorry I wrote a really long answer.... But still....... Hope it helped u alot!!!
