If a child weighs 20 Kg and his father weighs 80kg what is the percentage of the child's weight COMPARED to his Father's? ANSWER. Divide the small amount ,by the large amount, then MULTIPLY your result by 100. OR move the decimal point 2 places to the right. 20/80 equals 1/4 X 100 equals 25 per cent.
You get a percentage by multiplying the decimal fraction by 100. For example, 1.00= 100%, .25=25%, .33=33%, 2.33=233%. If it is a fraction, first change the fraction to a decimal and multiply by 100. Examples are 3/4=.75=75%, 3/10=.30=30%, 45/100=.45=45%/
you divide your given number by the total, for example, you have 3 apples, but you had 10, you divide 3 by 10, and you get .30 which equals 30%
first you get the number you want the percentage of e.g 250

then you divide that by 100

then you multiply the answer by the amount of percentage you are looking for e.g 30%

250 divide by 100 multiply by 30 = 75 ...simple :D
