In the UK, you do nothing! The two notations are the same.
You simply take the number of digits less one as the power, convert the number to a decimal between 0 and 10 and then note this decimal x 10 to the power calculated previously. e.g. 1,000,000 in scientific notation is 1.0 x 106 123,000,000 in scientific notation is 1.23 x 108
To change a number from standard to scientific notation, move the decimal point to create a number between 1 and 10. Count the number of places you moved the decimal point to get the power of 10. If you moved it to the left, the exponent is positive, and if you moved it to the right, the exponent is negative.
For a negative power of -k, the equivalent decimal is the decimal point followed by (k-1) zeros followed by 1.Thus 10^-5 = 0.00001
Scientific notation is a way of representing numbers in the forma*10b where 1 ≤ |a| < 10 is a decimal number and b is an integer (negative or positive).a is called the mantissa and b is called the exponent. To convert a number in scientific notation to normal form:· If b is positive, move the decimal point b places to the right in the number a - adding 0s at the end of the number, if required.· If b is negative, move the decimal point b places to the left in the number a - adding 0s immediately after the decimal point, if required. For example:4.56*105 = 456000.4.56*10-5 = 0.0000456

You divide the negative number by a positive number for it to stay positive. And you divide the negative number by a negative number for it to become positive.
If the exponent is positive, you move the decimal point to the right, the specified number of digits. For a negative exponent, you move it to the left. In either case, you fill out missing digits with zero. Examples (using "^" for power):3.448 x 10^1 = 34.485 x 10^6 = 5000000 (note the implied decimal point to the right of the number)3 x 10^-3 = 0.003
change the percentage to a decimal than divide it.
its madali lang kung 0.993 imomove mo yung decimal sa right tapos magiging 9.93x10-1 pag pa right negative pag pa left possitive.
times by the little number like .420 is 80
