Cubic units describe volume and capacity, like how much a bottle or a balloon holds.

Square units describe the area of a surface, like the floor of a room or the amount

of land in your back yard.

Neither one can convert to the other one. It's not possible to calculate how

many acres of gas you put in your car, or how many gallons of carpet you need

to cover the upstairs hallway.
