What you do is you turn the whole number into a fraction. Say 3 was the whole number you're trying to divide. You would turn it into 3/1. Then you would divide the fraction.
How you divide a fraction is you multiply it with its reciprical. Say the equation was 3/4 divided by 6/9. you would then switch 6/9 to it's reciprical which is 9/6. Then you would multiply 3/4 and 9/6. 3x9=27. 4x6=24 so it would be 27/24 but that is not a whole number. 24 goes into 27 once and there is 3 left over. So now we have 1 3/24. But we need to simplify 3/24. they are both divisible by three so now we do 3 divided by 3 which is 1 over 24 divided by 3 which is 8 so we not have 1 1/8
3/4 divided by 6/9= 1 1/8
If you invert a fraction, division is converted to multiplication, so dividing by a fifth, for example, is equivalent to multiplying by 5. Dividing by 7/8 is equal to multiplying by 8/7 which is one and a seventh, or 1.143 approximately. It is often convenient to convert fractions to decimal form, for ease of multiplication.
To divide a whole number by a fraction, you can rewrite the fraction as a whole number by multiplying the denominator by the whole number. Then, divide the resulting whole number by the numerator of the fraction. This process is equivalent to multiplying the whole number by the reciprocal of the fraction.
Multiply the denominator by the whole number, or divide the numerator by the whole number
if you can divide whole numbers, turn the fraction into a whole number by finding its equivalent and replacing the fraction with that equivalent. Then divide the new number which should be whole and you have your answer.
no no no that is not what they were asking you would divide a whole number by a fraction by putting the whole number over one making it an improper fraction then divide those as you would regular fractions ........ hope it helped :)

Any whole number can be written over 1. To divide a fraction by a whole number, multiply that fraction by one over the whole number. 2/3 divided by 4 = 2/3 x 1/4
how to write 6/9 as a product of a whole number and a unit fraction.

If it is a rational fraction, you simply multiply its denominator by the whole number.
When you divide a number by a fraction between zero and one, the quotient will be greater than that number.
you divide the numerator by the denominator
