If you draw a line from the center of a circle to the edge of a circle, you have drawn the radius of the circle. Draw a circle, draw a vertical line through it, trim half the circle and ends of the line, and revolve the semicircle with the line as the axis.

this is very simple all you need to do is draw some sort of line some where through the middle and if it looks like you can fold it and it will be even on both sides then it is symmetric. other wise it is not. if there is a problem in which there is already a line and it is not exactly through the middle then it is not symmetric but as is you also need to watch for if there is a line through it and it is exactly in the middle AND you can fold it while it is even then it is symmetric. i hope this method helps:)

To make perpendicular lines, draw a horizontal line. Then using a compass or tracing around the edge of a curved object, draw one circle ( or just a semi-circle) so that it crosses the horizontal straight line in at least one point. Now rotate the compass or move the curved object to draw another circle (or semi-circle). This second circle (or semi-circle) must cross through the horizontal straight line as the first one did. It also must cross through the first circle (or semi-circle) at two points- above the horizontal straight line and below the horizontal straight line. Next, draw a straight line from where the two circles (or semi-circles) meet above the horizontal straight line through to where they meet below the horizontal straight line. You can draw a straight line in, on or near a circle but it cannot be a part of a circle.
The hard part is form a right angle. To do that draw a line with two points on it. Draw a circle around each point. Draw a line through the two points at which the circles intersect.
