I'm sure someone could supply the actual theorem or rule but it could logically be any one of the factors. Like an area of eighteen could have a l and w of 1 and 18 or 2 and 9, I think.

Square root the area. The length and width of a square are always the same and length times width is the area so this is how you get the area.

It is the same as its length, and if that is not given, it is the square root of the area.

What is the length if the area is 324 yd?

To find the length when the area is 324 square yards, you need to know the width of the area. If the width is given, you can divide the area by the width to get the length. The formula for finding the area of a rectangle is length multiplied by width, so if you have the area and one of the dimensions, you can solve for the other dimension using basic algebraic principles.

What is the length and width of a rectangle if the area is 2200 square feet?

The length and width can't be determined since it is a rectangle. A length would need to be given, or it would have to be a square.

How do you find the length of rectangle or square if the area and width are known?

For a rectangle or square, Area = Length * Width So Length = Area / Width.

How do you find the length if the width and area is given?

Area = (length) times (width)Length = (area) divided by (width)Width = (area) divided by (length)

How do you find the length and width and the area is given?

If the area is already given, there should also be either width or length given. Do the area, divided by the length or the width. For example, the area divided by the width equal the length. Hope it helps.

How do you calculate the length and width of a room when area is given?

You cannot calculate the length and width of a room on its area alone. You could compute the square root of the area on the assumption that the room has a square shape, but you'd generally need the ratio of length over width.
