It is very easy. All you do is you add a negative before the number.HOWEVER 0 does not have an opposite value. Here are some examples.

1 = -1

25 = -25

0 = 0 NOTE: like I said 0 does not have opposite since it is nothing

-3 = 3

-7 = 7

I hope that this will help =]

How do Absolute value of a number and it's opposite compare?

The absolute value of a number is always positive or zero, while its opposite is always negative or zero. The relationship between the absolute value of a number and its opposite is that they have the same numerical value but opposite signs. For example, the absolute value of -5 is 5, and the opposite of 5 is -5.

What is the difference between finding the opposite of a number and find absolute value of a number?

Finding the opposite of a number involves changing its sign; for example, the opposite of 5 is -5. In contrast, the absolute value of a number represents its distance from zero on the number line, regardless of direction, so the absolute value of both 5 and -5 is 5. Essentially, the opposite gives you a number with the opposite sign, while absolute value gives you a non-negative magnitude.

How do you find absolute value of positive and negative numbers?

To find the absolute value of a positive number all the answer is is the number in between the lines. For example, the absolute value of [340] is 340. To find the absolute value of a negative number, it is simply the opposite (positive version) of the negative number. For example, the absolute value of [-56] is just 56.

The opposite of any number is?

The purpose of finding the opposite of a number is to find its absolute value. This is how much less or greater it is than zero and how much it needs to return to zero.

Is the absolute value of a number ever equal to its opposite?

Yes! When the number is negative, the absolute value of it'll be its opposite.

Does a decimal have a opposite?

No. A decimal is a way of representing a quantity so that the place value of each digit is ten times the place value of the number to its right. So the opposite would be to find a way not to represent a number?! What is the point of that?

Why absolute value of a number is positive?

Absolute value is always the opposite of the number.

What is the opposite of -57?

The opposite of -57 is 57. The opposite of a number is the number with the same absolute value but with an opposite sign.

What is the opposite of the absolute value of 17?

The absolute value of 17 is 17 itself, as absolute value measures the distance of a number from zero on the number line, regardless of its sign. The opposite of a number refers to its additive inverse. Therefore, the opposite of the absolute value of 17 is -17.

What is the absolute value of the opposite of x?

The absolute value of the opposite of x is x. The absolute value is the number's distance from zero on a number line. Distance can not be negative, so basically, to find the absolute value of a number you just need to make it positive. The opposite of x is -x. |-x|=x - you make the x positive Of course, if x, to begin with, represents a negative (less than zero) number than the absolute value would be -x. For example if x=-3, the opposite value of x would be 3 and the absolute value of x would also be 3 which happens to be -x.

When is the absolute value of a number equal to the opposite of that same number?

The absolute value of a negative number is positive.
