Simply remove the percent sign and add a denominator of 100.

You can reduce to lowest terms if you like and if the percentage is fractional, you

can move the decimal point on both numerator and denominator by the same amount to remove the decimals.

If the percent contain a mixed number convert to a fraction in the usual way.

Examples

7% = 7/100

51% = 51/100

12% = 12/100 (can reduce to 3/25 if you like.

12.5 % = 12.5/100 = 125/1000 = 1/8

33 1/3 % = 33 1/3 / 100 = 100/3 / 100 = 100/3 times 1/100 = 1/3 /
