Take everything two at a time, and multiply them:

You have four factors ... 2, x, 7, and x ... and they all have to be multiplied together.
Think of the process like this:

Take the first two and multiply them:

2 times x = 2x

Multiply that answer by the next factor:

2x times 7 = 14x

Multiply that answer by the last factor:

14x times x = 14x2

That method is pretty successful, but there's an even better way to go about it.
This way is a little harder, but much better over the long haul.

-- Find a quiet place, where you won't be disturbed.

-- Go there. Take your math book with you, but leave your iPod, radio, TV, CD and DVD players
and cellphone somewhere else, where they'll be secure.

-- Sit down in your quiet place, open your math book, and read the chapter that comes right before
this problem. In that chapter, you'll see a detailed explanation of exactly how to get the answer.
