Measure WIDTH and HEIGHT - multiply both figures - result = Sq Ft.
Isn't LENGTH an essential part of this formula?
The WIDTH I refer too is also/can be called the LENGTH of a wall - easily. Actually the latter may in fact be more frequently used. In any case, the multiplication of WxH or LxH will give the right answer - wall surfaces have only 2 dimensions.
The length times the height of the wall will give you the square footage of that wall. Do that for both the long and short walls, and multiply the result by two. If the room is square, just measure one wall, find the square footage, and multiply by four. Don't forget to measure the length and height of any doors and windows, and subtract the total from the area of the walls.
Multiply the length of one wall by the height to give you the square footage of that one wall. Then repeat for all other walls in the room and add up the total.
Find the measurements from one corner along the wall to the next corner and then repeat with the wall next to it. Once you've found the measurements, multiply them together to find the square footage.
15 x 15 = 225 square feet
In order to calculate the square footage you need to find the length and the width of the room in feet. You multiply the length and the width to give you the square footage of the room

Square footage estimates on drywall are based on the square footage of wall and ceiling that need to be covered.

To find the square footage of a room, measure the length and width of the room in feet, then multiply the two measurements together. The result is the square footage of the room.

To calculate the square footage of a room, you multiply the length of the room by the width of the room. This will give you the total area in square feet.

what is the square footage
You normally measure the linear dimensions and then calculate the area (square footage). If you have a rectangular room, you measure its length and width in feet and then multiply the two numbers to get the area of the room in square feet. If the room is not rectangular (eg with a bay, an alcove or an L-shaped room) you will need to divide it up into simpler shapes, calculate the area of each shape and add the areas together.
To check the square footage of a house, measure the length and width of each room using a tape measure. Multiply the length by the width of each room to calculate the square footage of that room. Add up the square footage of all the rooms to get the total square footage of the house.
