This was taught to me in 1952:
"The sum of the interior angles of an n-sided polygon is (2n - 4) right angles"
So double the number of sides, subtract 4 and multiply your answer by 90o
Maybe an easier one to remember: (n - 2) x 180°.
Here's why it might be easier: Note that a triangle has 180°. A polygon must have at least 3 sides (triangle): hence n - 2 is the smallest one you can have. If n = 2 then (n-2 = 0) so you have 0° (not a polygon). With n=3, (n-2 = 1), so you have 180°.
And so on.
The exterior angles always, in any shape, add up to 360. The interior angles sum depends on the number of sides.
1980 degrees
900 degrees
If it's a quadrilaterl shape then the 4 interior angles will add up to 360 degrees in compliance with the formula: (number of sides-2)*180 = sum of interior angles
20 sides
It depends how many sides the shape has. If n is the number of sides of the shape, then the interior angles sum to (n - 2) x 180o. The exterior angles of any shape sum to 360o.
The sum of the interior angles is 8x180 degrees or 1440 degrees. The sum of the exterior angles is always 360 degrees.
The formula for the sum of the interior angles of a shape with n sides is: 180 * (n - 2) So, for a 31 sided shape, the sum of the interior angles is 180 * 29 = 5,220.
The exterior angles always, in any shape, add up to 360. The interior angles sum depends on the number of sides.
The sum of all 30 interior angles would equal 5040*.
The sum of all the exterior angles is 360 degrees. The sum of all the interior angles is 720 degrees.
No. An interior angle is one of many angles in the interior of a closed shape - usually a polygon. The angle sum is the sum of the values of a specified list of angles. They may be angles around a point, angles in one or more shapes.
An hexagon which is a six sided shape.
1980 degrees
900 degrees
The sum of the interior angles of a polygon is 2n - 4 right angles, where n is the number of sides. For a 24 sided shape this gives (2 x 24) - 4 = 44 right angles = 3960°.
180 x (52-2) = 9000 The sum of the interior angles is 9000 degrees.
