When I graded papers, no matter how many questions, I would mark the questions wrong that were wrong with checks. Then, to come up with a grade I would subtract the number possible with the number wrong. That would give me the total number right and from that you assign a grade to the paper.

It depends on exactly what scale is used, but for almost all, that would be an F.

If you got 20 problems wrong on a 75 question test your grade would be 73% or a C. You can find that by subtracting the amount of questions you got wrong from the amount you got right, 55 in this case. Divide the amount of correct questions by the amount of questions on the test to get .733333. That is the grade.
