  • You know if a number is a multiple of five if the number can be divided by five evenly.
  • For example, 27 is not a multiple of five because 27 divided by 5 is 5.4, which is not an even, whole number. However, 25 is a multiple of 5 since 25 divided by five is 5.
  • All multiples of 5 end in either "5" or "0". This caused by the relationship that all even numbers have 2 as a factor and 2x5=10 so that the rest of the factors are multiplied by 10, thus ending in 0. All odd numbers are 1 more than an even number and can be represented by a number ending in zero (see previous statement) plus 5 (as 1x5=5)
