First, you have to find the common denominator. So you would take 4 and 3, and list all their multiples. Now, look at your list of multiples. Do 3 and 4 have any multiples in common? Yes, they do. Pick the lowest shared multiple and stick it on the bottom of the two fractions, so you now have 3 over 12 and 2 over 12. Then, you look at what the denominators were first. The first denominator was 4. And to get to 12, 4 had to times by 3. So you look at the numerator, 3, and you also times it by 3. So you now have 9 over twelve. Do the same thing to the other fraction. 3 had to times by 4 to get to 12 so do 2 times 4 and you now have 8 over 12 and 9 over 12, so you know that 3 over 4 is greater than 2 over three. I hope that helps!
