OK so you know that any number divided by 1 = that number, right?

To determine what 0.8 is as a fraction you can put it over 1 so it looks like

0.8/1

You can multiply the top and the bottom part of that fraction by 10 (or any number you want, as long as you multiply the top and the bottom)

so 0.8 * 10 = 8

and

1 * 10 = 10

So now you have 8/10. While this is technically 0.8 as a fraction, you need to reduce it.

2 is the highest number that goes into both 8 AND 10 so you divide 2 into 8 and get 4

and you divide 2 into 10 and get 5

and now you have the fraction, 4/5!
