Factor rainbows, like trees and fireworks, are a way to notate the process of finding the prime factorization of a given number. Once you have at least two of them, you can find a GCF.
Example: 30 and 42
5,3,2
15,2
30

7,3,2
21,2
42

2 x 3 x 5 = 30
2 x 3 x 7 = 42
Select the common factors.
2 x 3 = 6, the GCF
