You can use a calculator, or you could multiply them by placing them on top of each other, and then bringing the decimal all of the way to the bottom. Then, multiply regularly.

Multiplying decimals is just like multiplying any other numbers, but you have to keep track of how many decimal places there are. For example:

45 x 15=675

4.5 x 15 (or 45 x 1.5)=67.5 (the one decimal place carries)

4.5 x 1.5 =6.75 (so BOTH decimal places carry to the answer)

So essentially you can multiply two decimals like you would any set of whole numbers, and then carry the decimal places from BOTH numbers.

375 x 480=180,000

37.5 x 48.0= 1,800.00 (two decimal places)

37.5 x 4.80= 180.000 (three decimal places)

3.75 x 4.80=18.0000 (four decimal places)
