Oh, dude, you're hitting me with some math lingo there. So, when you multiply k5 by k2, you just add the exponents because they have the same base. So, k5 x k2 simplifies to k7. It's like magic, but with letters instead of rabbits.
K2 is named like that because they took the first letter of Karakorum and the number 2 because it was the second peak in the range to be measured.

The name K2 is derived from the notation used by the Great Trigonometric Survey. Thomas Montgomerie made the first survey of the Karakoram from Mount Haramukh, some 130 miles (210 km) to the south, and sketched the two most prominent peaks, labelling them K1 and K2.
Achille Compagnoni (26 September 1914 - 13 May 2009) was an Italian mountaineer and skier. On the 31st July 1954 he became the second climber to have reached the summit of K2. He was a member of the K2 Italian Expedition that also put Lino Lacedelli on the summit, making him the first person to stand on the summit of K2.
