Speed of wave (e.g. m/s) = wavelength (m) x number of waves per second (Hz)

So you can figure out any one of speed, wavelength or frequency if you know the other two. Often, you know the speed (e.g. light, 3x10^8 m/s, or sound, 340 m/s).
