New York City cultural activists organized the levitation of the Pentagon. Some of these activists, esp. Abbie Hoffman, became the nucleus of the Yippies [i.e, "Youth International Party"] two months later [December, 1967 as announced in Paul Krassner's magazine THE REALIST] There is a sound clip of the levitation on the Fugs' album TENDERNESS JUNCTION. Ed Sanders of the Fugs can be heard in the clip reciting an incantation; Abbie Hoffman can be heard repeating a phrase or two said by Sanders. "Circle of protection" is one such phrase as I recall. I don't have the LP at hand [nor a way to play it as of yet] I also don't have the books at hand to check, but perhaps the levitation is described in Norman Mailer's THE ARMIES OF THE NIGHT and Hoffman's REVOLUTION FOR THE HELL OF IT.
The September 11 attacks in 2001 targeted the United States, specifically striking the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. These coordinated attacks were carried out by the terrorist group al-Qaeda, resulting in significant loss of life and widespread destruction. The U.S. response led to military action in Afghanistan, aiming to dismantle al-Qaeda and remove the Taliban from power.
The countries that are roughly five hours away from a specific location vary depending on the starting point. For example, if you're considering flying from New York City, countries like the United Kingdom, Ireland, and parts of Eastern Canada can be around five hours away. From the West Coast, such as Los Angeles, countries like Mexico and parts of Central America could fall within that time frame. Always check specific flight times, as they can vary based on routes and conditions.
