Blood and other tests done to diagnose an illness or check on health all use math.
Blood pressure is reported as numbers, blood glucose level (to diagnose Diabetes) is tested and reported as numbers. Doctors must analyze graphs --- an electrocardiograph is taken of the electrical function of the heart to check for heart problems. Medical treatments are sometimes based on the weight of a person. More of a drug must be given to a larger person to be effective. Too much of a medicine may be harmful to a smaller person, so dosages must be calculated.
Part of health care is billing ... all procedures are charged to the patient. Discounts for medicare / insurance must be calculated, partial payments required from the patient (generally called deductibles and copays) must be calculated and all taken into account to come up with a final bill.
