About 84 million were struck, most at Philadelphia and the rest at Denver and San Francisco.
However it's impossible to know how many survived being lost, melted, etc. In any case this remains a fairly common date among collectors, so my guess is that a fairly high percentage of that 84 million are still extant.

Kennedy half dollars (50 cent pieces) have only been minted since 1964. And in any case, JFK was only 5 years old in 1922 and on top of that the U.S. didn't mint ANY half dollars in 1922.
Your 1922 Liberty dollar is actually a 1922 PEACE dollar. The 1922 date is the most common and assuming the coin is circulated and has no mintmark, retail values are $31.00-$37.00 depending on how much wear the coin shows.
Morgan and Peace dollars - 26.7 gm Eisenhower dollars - 22.7 gm SBA, Sacagawea, and Presidential dollars - 8.1 gm
Basicly you can't, if you think you have a "High Relief" 1922 Peace dollar, send it to a third-party grading service, any coin must be authenticated.
4-20-11>> Assuming the coin is circulated and has no mintmark, the 1922 Peace dollar is the most common of them all in any grade. A circulated coin is only $37.00 to $41.00 retail.
