"mm" (millimeter) is a length or distance, with one dimension. "pt" (pint) is a

volume, with three dimensions. They measure completely different physical

quantities, and can't be converted to each other.

If a volume could be converted to a length, then you'd be able to calculate

how many inches of milk you drank last week.
