Normal guideline is 5.
A 48 inch table has 48x48 sq inches, which is 2304 sq inches, or 16 square feet. 300/16=18.75 Stick with 18 tables. However, you don't say if you want room for people to sit around the tables. My answer doesn't leave room for people to sit around the tables. If you want room for people to sit, then I would suggest that you try setting up one table with the chairs around it with people sitting in the chairs, then measure to see how much room it takes.

Ten people can sit around a 48 inch by 96 inch table.

Somewhere around ten people.
Six people should be able to sit comfortably around a 54 inch table. Two more could be added, but the space would be rather limited.

10 people comfortably, but you can fit up to 12 people if needed. Any less than 9 people at a 72" table is too much room.
How many people can sit at a 72" x 30" x 42" table
7 people will fit
well it depends in how skinny they are or how big they are
