Snakes do not hibernate like some other animals do. Instead, they undergo a period of dormancy during colder months where they become less active and may seek out sheltered areas to stay warm until temperatures rise.
Trick Question. They are extinct because there haven´t been any water on the moon for a long time. :-P Just a joke, smile and be happy. Don´t take it to seriusley. Yes, the opossum is a natural predator of mice. *********************** Actually, an opposum will eat about anything. They love fruit, bugs, snales, garbage, and ....even snakes... . Snakes make a great protein source for an opposum. Opposums are amune to rattle snake, copperhead, and cottonmouth poison. BTW...Although they can hold on with their tails they can not hang by them for more than a few seconds. And they do not carry their young attached to their tails, although you may see a young opposum holding on to mom's tail for a few minutes. With a body temperature of only 94f it is very unlikely for rabies to survive in the body of an opposum. Opposums have many really kool facts about them that few people know.
Yes. They eat mice more often but will eat a rat if they can catch it or if they find a dead rat. ********************* Actually, an opposum will eat about anything. snales
The opposum is a great actor. They put up an award winning bluff. Having 50 teeth they open their mouth very wide and hiss at the threat first. This is enough to make most attackers stop and think and perhaps even leave. Next they stumble around and fall over pretending to be dead. It is believed this is an automatic reaction to the stress. Then they can even emitt an evil smelling substance around the neck that makes them smell dead and sick. As far a protection from snakes they are amune to cottonmouth, rattle shake, and copperhead poisions. .. they also eat snakes along with about anything.. loving fruit, bugs, snales, mice, whatever.
