There are various types of dodecahedrons. A regular dodecahedron has twelve faces, each with five edges. Altogether there are thirty edges.
So you could make a regular dodecahedron with thirty straws, or one very long one!
You could even make one with sixty straws, but you would have to join them together in pairs to make the thirty edges!
