In relation to the 10 cm pulley a 5 cm pulley has half the circumference thus will rotate on the same line or belt twice as often.

circumference = 2 x pi x radius or pi x diameter, when comparing 2 circumferences the value of pi is immaterial. Thus 10cm/5cm = 2

Is the crank shaft pulley supposed to turn freely?

No, it's bolted to the end of the crank which pistons/rods attached to.

How is alternator driven?

Alternators are driven by belts attached to one or more pulleys on the engine to turn the pulley on the alternator.

In the picture below if pulley A turns clockwise at 15 rpm how fast and in what direction will pulley B turn?

Pulley B will turn counterclockwise at 15 rpm since it is connected to pulley A by the belt. Both pulleys will turn at the same speed since they are connected by the belt.

Do you turn the power steering pulley remover clockwise to remove the pulley?

Yes you do.

If pulley a turn clockwise at 15 rpm how fast and what direction will pulley b turn?

A simple enough question, but complicated by so many possible variations. For instance, place two cog wheels together so that their teeth mesh. Turn cog A clockwise and cog B will turn anticlockwise (counterclockwise in America). But if you replaced the toothed cogs with a pair of single pulley wheels with some distance apart. Pulling on the rope would turn the top pulley A clockwise and the pulley wheel B clockwise also. But, let us suppose that the rope has been deliberately twisted (not straightly laid) then the pulley B would be turning anticlockwise when the pullet A was turning clockwise. The rate of travel (RPM) would depends on the diametres of the pulley wheels - variations once more!

In the picture below if pulley A is moved clockwise what direction and how fast will pulley C turn?

If pulley A is moved clockwise, pulley C will also turn clockwise at half the speed of pulley A due to the belt connection. This is because pulley C has a larger diameter than pulley A, causing it to rotate slower while maintaining the same linear speed.

Which way does the pulley bolt turn?

Most bolts turn counterclockwise to come off. Year, make, model and which pulley would be helpful.

How do you replace a 2005 Chevy cavalier serpantine belt?

you need to get a wrench and turn the bolt (relieve the pressure on the pulley) on the tensioner pulley and remove the belt then turn bolt (relieve the pressure on the pulley) to reinstall it. The tensioner pulley is the one that is not your A/C pulley not your alternator pulley and not your crankshaft pulley its the only one that's left no hoses or plugs going to it. not sure how to explain it.

What force is overcome when a pulley is used?

When a pulley is used, the force that is overcome is the force of friction between the pulley and the surface it rotates on. This frictional force opposes the motion of the pulley and requires an input force to overcome it in order to allow the pulley to turn smoothly.

How does the size of the pulley effect the torque?

The size of the pulley directly affects the torque required to turn it. A larger pulley will require less force to turn because the torque is spread out over a larger radius, while a smaller pulley will require more force to turn due to the shorter distance from the center where the force is applied.

How many times can a steeringwheel turn round?

A steeringwheel can turn around 3 times

Is a car a pulley?

a pulley is a wheel with a grooved rim in which a rope, chain, or belt can run in order to change the direction or point of application of a force applied to the rope, etc. There is a pulley in a car the pulley turns the belt that goes around it to turn another pulley that might turn the water pump, or alt., or a/c. Hope this answers your question! :)
