We found the following definition on the www: 1 BTU = 1,055.05585 joules

Using that, 340 BTU/sec = 358,719 joule per second = 358.719 KW.

Really an awful lot of power !

From this little exercise, we're going to remember the following:

1 BTU = a little more than 1,000 joules

1 BTU/sec = a little more than 1 kilowatt
