Average is 2-3 words a second, so around 140 words.
To determine net words a minute: Total words (5 characters = 1 word), divided by number of minutes of the timing, minus 2 for each error = nwpm So, if you typed 75 words in 3 minutes with 2 errors on the timing, you would calculate net words per minute as follows: 75 words, divided by 3 (number of minutes) = 25 gwpm (gross words per minute) minus 4 (2 errors) = 21 nwpm - (net words per minute)
Divide 54 words by 3 minutes to obtain this unit rate, 18 words per minute.
134 words per minute. 2.23 words per second.

The number of words in a 3-minute speech can vary based on the speaker's pace, but on average, a person speaks about 100-130 words per minute. Therefore, a 3-minute speech can range from approximately 300-390 words.
A three-minute speech is typically around 300-400 words long, depending on the speaker's pace and style of delivery. It's important to practice and time your speech to ensure it fits within the allocated timeframe.

In a 3 minute speech, there should be a minimum of 380 (if you speak slower) or maximum of 460 (if you speak a bit faster). Anything slower will become boring for the listeners and anything faster will be unclear and make you seem nervous. Same thing for 2 minutes. For a 2 minute speech, about 290-340 words will be fine. That should be about right because I have timed it myself saying it. Good luck!

A typical person, who is speaking clearly and distinctly, speaks at about 100-150 words per minute. Thus, a 5-minute speech would contain roughly 600 words, total. A double-spaced, 12-point font will have roughly 1500 characters per page, which is 250 words, on average. So, a 5-minute speech should be about 3 single-spaced pages. (Note: special cases, such as a debate team competition, can raise the WPM to well over 500)

We have a number of variables here; not all pages contain the same number of words, and not all speakers speak at the same speed. Write out a page, then actually time yourself to find out how long it takes you to say those words. Then you'll know.
On average, a 6-minute speech consists of about 2-3 pages of double-spaced, size 12 font text. This estimation allows for a conversational pace that includes pauses and emphasis on certain points. It is important to practice the speech to ensure it is delivered effectively within the time frame.
