Don't get caught in the bargain basement when it comes to PR. You will just end up regretting it... Today, publicity really makes or breaks a project or career... Therefore, hiring a publicist should be thought of like hiring a lawyer or a surgeon -- you want the best, not the cheapest.

Don't expect a $100K campaign for $10K. Be realistic. A minimum budget of $5K a month would be about average in 2010 for personal publicity. Naturally, major corporate campaigns run much higher. But, when you compare it to the cost of buying airtime and print space -- a well connected publicist is the ultimate bargain. If they have really famous clients, that's a good sign !!
