or

Both i will give you the answers to.
with 5/4 x 3, we try to make the measurements the same. So, 5/4 x 3/1. Now we just times the tops together and the bottoms together. 5 x 3 = 15, and 4 x 1 = 4.
The answer for question 1 is 3 and 1/2
4x3 = 12, so 5/12 is your answer for question 2.
