Will Chevy 305 heads fit on a Chevy 307?

Yes they will, but 305 heads have a smaller combustion chamber so it may raise your compression ratio.

Will Chevy 5.0 heads and intake fit a 5.7 short block Chevy engine?

Depending on years that you are swapping around....yes. The 305 heads will raise the compression of the 350 considerably. However, the intake valves are a lot smaller than the 350.

Will my 1997 305 vortec heads fit on 1995 350 block?

Yes they will fit, but it will also raise the compression on you 350 by .5-.8. Also the gasket thickness and pstion, etc. will determine compression, also the valves are smaller, 1.885/1.5 i believe.

Does parts from a 1970 Pontiac 455 engine bolt onto a 1976 Pontiac Engine like heads and manifolds?

Yes engine was changed very little over it's life. One thing to watch out for, the 1970 cylinder heads will raise your compression to 10-10.5:1 which is too high to run on today's pump gas. The casting number 64 heads were the best 455 heads in 1970, they have 2.11 intake/1.77 exhaust valves and 85-87 cc chambers. They will give you about 10.5:1 compression, if you have acess to 95+ octane fuel they will boost power and milage over the anemic 7.6:1 compression of the 1975 455 Pontiac.

Do sunflowers raise their heads before rain?

yes

How do you change the head gaskets 1972 vw bug and can I remove the shins to increase compression?

There are no gasketsused between the cylinder head and the cylinder, but there can be shims used to control compression ratio. The shims are used when the head has been flycut (machined) when it is being rebuilt. You can have the heads flycut to raise compression ratio if desired. Be careful with the air cooled engines because too high a compression ratio can be disasterous! A competent VW machine shop can give you more details

I have a 1993 chevy 350 that came out of a van. it has 2 barrel heads with a throatle body. i want to change it to a carburter.ihave a 1984 305 4 barrel heads .will heads work on 1993 350?

Chevy heads are not thought of as 2 barrel or 4 barrel like Ford Cleveland heads. Your 350 has heads with bigger valves than a 305. The 305 heads might have smaller combustion chambers, which would raise your compression ratio. Before pulling the trigger on this swap, I'd suggest you contact Summit or Jeg's and ask them about interchangeability of the intake. It's possible that a new intake is all you need to put the carb on your 350.

Can you use Oldsmobile 307 5A heads on a Oldsmobile 403?

YES, the 5A heads FROM A 307 can be installed on a 403. The307 heads are a BETERR choice than the 67 to 72 Olds 350 heads. The 307 heads have similar sized intake & exhaust ports to the stock 403 heads. The 307 heads have a much smaller combustions chamber at arounf 67cc. This alone will raise compression to around 9.5:1. The only down side is the 307 heads have much smaller valves. You really must get larger valves installed into the 307 heads. The stock 403 valves will fit with some machining (of course) and you'll have a high compression 403. Get some port work done while you are at it & a little polishing too. Buy a new intake & have it machine & port matched to the intake & a middle of the road Lunati cam. This will result in a 403 producing around 330 HP. I know it works because this is exactly what I did. Enjoy your Olds, Mark

Are Oldsmobile 350 455 heads interchangeable and if not please explain?

Yes, but with some note worthy issues. The heads will bolt to the block, but you will have a large intake port mismatch (the 455 intake ports are about .300 taller than the 350 ports.). You can not swap intakes to cure this, since the 455 has a taller deck height than the 350. You can however, port the top of the intake runners on a 350 intake manifold to get them closer to the 455 size (an Edelbrock Performer RPM can apparently be ported to match), or port a 350 head to get it closer to the 455 intake. Be careful to not remove too much material. There is also the problem of compression 455 heads are listed as 72cc combustion chambers, but usually measure closer to 80cc. 350 heads are listed at 60cc and are about 60-65cc. Swapping the 455 heads onto the 350 will loose about 1.5-2.0 points of compression. Results will be around 7-7.5to1. You could do it with coustom pistons to get back the lost compression. 350 heads on a 455 will raise compression too high for pump gas, and have smaller ports and (usually) smaller valves, not good for performance. Will 1968 327 heads improve performance when bolted on an older 305 decrease performance or effect it at all?

The larger combustion chambers will lower the compression ratio a little. Might lose 5-10 hp. The larger valves will raise the torque curve making the engine feel sluggish at low speeds.
