to do a 2 step equation, you use the rules of equality. ex. 2x+4=10. First, the addition property. you can - or+ a number to both sides to have it still be equal. So subtract 4 from both sides, you have 2x=6. Now, division. you need to divide by the constant of the x. so, divide both sides by 2 and your answer is x=3. It is a different type of math, so it may take some getting used to. Sorry if I'm not clear, I'm not a complete expert on algebra myself.

How do you solve two-step equations with fractions?

Equations can be tricky, and solving two step equations is an important step beyond solving equations in one step. Solving two-step equations will help introduce students to solving equations in multiple steps, a skill necessary in Algebra I and II. To solve these types of equations, we use additive and multiplicative inverses to isolate and solve for the variable. Who invented the 2 step equations?

The concept of solving 2-step equations, which involve two arithmetic operations to isolate the variable, is a fundamental concept in algebra. The invention of this method cannot be attributed to a single individual, as algebraic equations have been developed and refined over centuries by mathematicians from various cultures. However, the systematic approach to solving equations, including 2-step equations, can be traced back to ancient civilizations such as the Babylonians, Greeks, and Arabs, who made significant contributions to the field of mathematics.
