Math can be refered to as science, physics, etc. Archimedes, a Greek philosopher, discovered many science laws. Just Google the country's above and "math inventions".
We can be quite sure it evolved gradually over time. In prehistorical times people would already do some simple sums (counting their cattle, for example), and gradually, more advanced concepts evolved, as the need arose.
