The primary agency of Emergency Support Function (ESF) #5 - Emergency Management is usually the state emergency management agency or equivalent organization designated by the state's emergency operations plan. ESF #5 assists in coordinating emergency management activities during a disaster or emergency situation.
ESF 5- Emergency Management * A hazardous spill has occurred and the County Emergency Manager must be notified. ESF 6- Mass Care, Housing and Human Services * A requirement to feed 200 disaster workers and shelter 400 evacuees. ESF 7- Resource Support * Portable Toilets need to be rented and periodically serviced at the disaster and staging areas. ESF 8- Public Health and Medical Services * Two deceased individuals must be removed from a disaster scene. ESF 13- Public Safety and Security * Coordination with State Highway Patrol personnel is required.
