False
false
That statement is false. Volume is found by multiplying length by width by height.
False. The equation for area of a triangle is 1/2 base x height. The height and the base would have to be the same for two triangles to have the same area.
false. half the base times the height of the triangle times the length the prism. 1/2*base*height*length. remember to keep the same units.
True. When the temperature of a gas increases, the average kinetic energy of the gas particles also increases. This causes the gas particles to move faster and collide more frequently with the walls of the container, leading to an increase in the volume of the gas.
No. That's false.
True. As you go deeper into the Earth, both temperature and pressure increase due to the weight of the overlying material and the Earth's internal heat.
False. As heat is applied to a closed container containing a gas, the temperature will increase, causing the gas molecules to move faster and collide more frequently with the container walls, resulting in an increase in pressure, not a decrease.
Yes, increasing the pressure of a reactant gas in a closed system at equilibrium will shift the equilibrium towards the side with fewer moles of gas molecules to counteract the increase in pressure. This is in accordance with Le Chatelier's principle, which states that a system at equilibrium will adjust to counteract any external stress applied to it in order to reestablish equilibrium.
False. As you climb a mountain, the air pressure decreases because there is less air pushing down from above. This is why many climbers experience difficulty breathing at high altitudes due to the lower air pressure.
false, height is a polygenic trait
False. The presence of gravity does not directly affect the amount of gas in an atmosphere. Factors such as temperature, pressure, and chemical reactions play a larger role in determining the composition and amount of gas in a given atmosphere.
True. Greenhouse gases trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere, leading to global warming which in turn affects climate patterns and weather conditions worldwide. Increases in greenhouse gas concentration are linked to more extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, storms, and droughts.
The statement is false because in a hydraulic system, the force on the larger piston is greater than the force on the smaller piston, even though the pressure is the same. This is due to the difference in cross-sectional area between the two pistons, which results in a mechanical advantage that allows the larger piston to exert a greater force.
If I remember correctly it is a little more complicated than that. The general equation PV=nRT for an ideal gas is elementary knowledge. The fact is that when you increase temperature many things can happen. It depends on how you treat your system. In general if you increase temperature in an open system the pressure will remain fairly constant, but the volume will increase. If it is a closed system in which the volume is not allowed to expand the pressure will increase with increased temperature. You also have to remember chemical properties also such as phase changes. Hope that rambling mess helps lol.
True. Pressure increases with depth due to the weight of the overlying fluid pressing down. This relationship is known as hydrostatic pressure.
