Although this an equation of a straight line and y increases when x increases, a directly proportional equation has y/x = constant.
So if b is zero it is in direct proportion, but not if b is non zero

An equation.
You would set the equation equal to 0 and then solve for x. You may get one or several answers for x, x being the number(s) that make the equation equal 0.

Answer: ProportionalorDirectly Proportional
The equation states that energy is directly proportional to mass and that the constant of proportionality is equal to the square of the velocity of light (in vacuum).
Directly proportional: pressure and temperature (Boyle's Law and Charles's Law), inversely proportional: volume and pressure (Boyle's Law), volume and temperature (Charles's Law).
Is a number sentence that does not equal anything or has an equal sign.
Pressure and the amount of gas are directly proportional, according to Boyle's Law. This means that as the amount of gas increases, the pressure it exerts also increases, assuming the temperature and volume remain constant. Conversely, if the amount of gas decreases, the pressure decreases as well.

No, molecules are not equal in a chemical equation. The number of atoms of each element on the reactant side must be equal to the number of atoms of the same element on the product side for the equation to be balanced.

This description refers to Newton's Second Law of Motion, which states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass. The equation can be written as F = ma, where F is the net force, m is the mass of the object, and a is the acceleration.
Power is equal to the rate at which work is done, so the equation for power can be written as P = W/t, where P is power, W is work, and t is time. This equation shows that power is directly proportional to the amount of work done in a certain amount of time.
