You don't need the q.f. That factors to (k + 6)(k - 1), so k = 1, -6 but if you insist...

Plugging in the values for a, b and c leads us to (-5 plus or minus 7 times the square root of 1) divided by 2

(-5 + 7) ÷ 2 = 1

(-5 - 7) ÷ 2 = -6

but you knew that already.

No the problem asked me to do it using the quadratic formula ...any way thanks
