Pie graph (or pie chart), used to show a portion of the whole, like Demographics of a population, or percent of expenses that go to payroll, rent, electricity, etc. Sometimes seeing that a certain piece of data takes a big chunk of the 'pie' or a small 'sliver' can have more meaning rather seeing the 'raw numbers'.
Bar graph: Could show actual values of a quantity for each time period. Can see a trend over time.

There are many different kinds of charts. A few would be a graph, bar graph, flow charts, pie charts, pictograph, line graphs, histogram, dot plot, and scatterplot.
There is no specific name since a large number of different graphs can be used for this purpose.
Many kinds of information can be shown on maps and graphs. Geography, population, pronunciation differences, income, age, religion... almost anything.

Smart Art is provides the facility to create a variety of charts, like organisational charts, flow charts etc. These charts are specialised, and customisable. So it is usually specialist users that will use a lot of them, though anyone can use them.
If you can illustrate numerical information in a pictorial form then that is a graph. So there are infinitely many kinds of graphs. One of my favourites illustrates Napoleon's invasion of Russia and his retreat. See link for more.
