What does uncirculated coin look like?

An uncirculated coin shows no wear at all. Most have full mint luster but also may have minor nicks and scratches. Some uncirculated coins do not have any mint luster but still do not show any signs of wear.

How do you determine mint state of old coin?

The term "Mint State" refers to the grade of a Uncirculated coin, The grading is not based on the amount of wear a coin has because there is none. It's based on how well the coin has been struck and the number an severity of any contact marks, scratches, rim nicks and scuff marks on the coin.

What is the average number of car accidents a person is involved in their lifetime?

That depends on what you mean by a car accident. If you are talking about a car crash it would be about 0.3 on average. Most people are never involved in an auto crash with two moving vehicles in their life. If you are talking about tapping someones bumper while parallel parking or backing out of a spot, maybe your car door opens and nicks the paint on an adjacent vehicle, then it would average about 3.

What does a uncirculated quarter mean?

"Uncirculated" refers to the condition of the coin, specifically that it shows no sign of wear from being handled. This doesn't necessarily mean that it is in perfect condition - a coin can have a lot of little dings and nicks (from being put in large bags with other coins - called bag marks - or from the minting process itself) and may not be shiny ("toning" is a chemical process - it's what causes copper coins to turn brown and silver coins to turn black - and can come either from handling or just from the air). There are actually eleven grades of Uncirculated, from MS-60 (Mint State 60), which may be a bit nicked up, up to MS-70, which is theoretical perfection in all aspects (perfect strike, not nicks or dings, great surface, etc.). As a practical matter, the ratings most commonly used are MS-60, MS-63, and MS-65, although more modern coins may grade to MS-67 or MS-68 sometimes.
