I used to live in Texas and I am guessing that this refers to the taks test i know. and i also took it in 5th. you dont have to pass it, it is just for an assesment on what the teachers taught

In Texas, its mostly in 3rd grade when you take your fist two TAKS, such as the : Reading, and Math. From there you go on to taking more in the future.
