I have no clue but if authors get 15 percent of the books list price. therefore its list price times how many books were sold by how much percentage they get in royalties. So make up some random numbers might give a vague idea of how much they might make. lets say 500 000 books makes it to best seller. Lets say each book says for 7 bucks. Lets say the author gets 15 percent in royalties from each book. So 500 000 times 7 by 15 percent. 3 500 000 by 15 percent. 525 000 might be how much it would be. That's the best answer i can come up with. As an author, I may be able to shed some light on this - it is a formula of books sold by a percentage of the list price of the books. It's 15% if it's a hardback book and less than 10% for paperback books. So, it's the number of books sold times the percentage of the list price to equal amount earned. This formula is complicated by advances which are paid against royalties. Many authors never receive royalties if they are paid an advance and they haven't "earned out."
