Twenty somthing plus 5x equals 35 What is x?

Depends of what the twenty something is. But i can help a bit.

=> 20ish + 5x = 35

{take 20ish from both sides of the equation}

=> 5x = 35 - 20ish

{divide both sides of the equation by 5}

=> x = (35 -20ish) /5

Just replace the 20ish with the exacty number and do the calcuation e.g. if it was exactly 20 the x = (35 - 20) / 5 = 15/5 = 3.
